Monalisa Behera is a Doctoral Scholar in Education under the Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Symbiosis International (Deemed University). She holds an Integrated M.Sc.–M.Ed. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Teacher Education, Gandhinagar, and an Integrated B.Sc.–B.Ed. from the Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Bhopal. She has qualified both UGC-NET and MH-SET in Education, reflecting strong academic grounding in the discipline. Her professional experience includes working as a TGT Mathematics Teacher at Delhi Public School, Sagar, and as an Aptitude Subject Matter Expert at TechCurators. She has also completed teaching and pedagogy-focused internships at the Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Ajmer, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Gandhinagar, which strengthened her understanding of school systems, curriculum implementation, and classroom practices. Through her doctoral research, titled “Exploring Determinants of Dropout: A Study of Decline in Enrollment in Higher Education in Maharashtra,” Monalisa aims to examine structural, socio-economic, and institutional factors influencing student retention in higher education. Her research aligns with the vision of the Dr. Ambedkar Chair by adopting a socially conscious and equity-oriented perspective, with a focus on access, inclusion, and educational justice.
